The choice of subject
The best way to get discouraged when you start watercolor is to engage in overly complicated drawings such as portraits or very detailed landscapes. Instead, prefer simple subjects such as flowers, fruits, or small objects, which will allow you to train while experiencing the pleasure and benefits of this hobby.
Leave white spaces
In watercolor, unlike other paintings, we do not use the color white, this role being played by the sheet of paper. So, remember to leave empty spaces in your compositions to add light or reflections.
