Hello, and Welcome to Equilibrium Psychiatry!
I am Dr. Zoya Moghal, a board-certified adult psychiatrist. I completed medical school at the Texas Tech University of Health Sciences and my Psychiatry residency at the Cleveland Clinic. I have experience treating various psychiatric illnesses, with specialized training in perinatal psychiatry and nutritional psychiatry.
My clinical philosophy revolves around gaining a broad understanding of my patient’s mental health. This involves discussing clinical symptoms and their impact on your physical health, relationships, family, career, and life goals. I believe in compassionate and non-judgmental care, and will provide a safe space to help you improve your mental health using evidence-based treatments and therapies.
General adult psychiatry
I have training and experience in treating all major psychiatric illnesses in adults, including but not limited to: Depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, neurodevelopment disorders and substance use disorders.
Perinatal psychiatry
Perinatal psychiatry focuses on the mental health care of women during pregnancy and the postpartum period. This includes prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric illnesses that occur during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Some common psychiatric illnesses that occur in the perinatal period include depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder and post partum psychosis. A mother’s mental health has an impact on her pregnancy, the post partum period/recovery and her infant’s health. Therefore, for pregnant and post partum patients, as well as those considering pregnancy, I conduct a careful review of psychiatric symptoms, medications and lifestyle with the goal of a collaborative approach to achieve optimal control of symptoms in the mother.
Women's mental health
Women's mental health refers to the mental and emotional well-being of women throughout their lives. This is especially relevant during times of reproductive transition (menstrual cycles, pregnancy,
