Do occur other brain problems in people with
lupus?
The bloodstream to the brain provides nutrients and oxygen to
brain cells. Strokes occur when the stream is interrupted and brain cells die
from lack of oxygen, which causes symptoms like tingling, and problems with
vision, speech and movement (and even paralysis). People with lupus are at
higher risk for strokes, particularly those brainpeak patients who also have
"antiphospholipid antibodies", about a third of patients); these
antibodies cause blood "sticky" and more likely to clot, decrease or
prevent the flow of bloodstream to the brain. Although not common, inflammation
of the spinal cord or brain blood vessels also occurs in lupus and can result
in paralysis, convulsions, difficulty differentiating reality, and loss of
consciousness.
Can lupus transform emotions and behavior?
Some people with lupus have mild but noticeable changes in behavior
such as feelings of fear or lack of fear, and the loss of interest and
curiosity. More commonly, fatigue and pain of lupus are stressful to the
