Adriatic first opened its doors in Melbourne in 1974, and since then has been recognized as a trusted name in the community. Over the years the business has seen ups and downs, but has persevered alongside the community and is now stronger than ever, thanks to a reputation for furniture expertise and customer service.Adriatic Furniture has come a long way from its humble beginnings in Bell Street, Coburg. The driving force behind Adriatic Furniture then and to this day is the Catalano family, whose origins lie in Bari, Southern Italy. Like many other migrants, the late Francesco Catalano journeyed from afar to begin a new life in a foreign land. Every night Francesco and his three sons, Joe, Michael and Anthony, worked long hours honing their craft and from little things, big things grew. This was due no doubt to the Catalano’s reputation for exceptional furniture at inexpensive prices.
