If it is safe for you to do so please transport sick or injured animals directly to the nearest vet for immediate assessment or call our rescue line for advice. Please DO NOT approach or attempt to rescue snakes, monitor lizards (goannas), bats (flying-foxes or microbats), large macropods (kangaroos or wallabies) or raptors (eagles, falcons or hawks). These animals require specialist handling and MUST be rescued by trained wildlife rescuers. WIRES administration office is open to the public by appointment only between 8am and 6pm.
