Western Australia Visitor Centre
We are the visitor center for the whole of WA, essentially the State’s ‘bricks and mortar’ tourism ‘shop front’. The WAVC provides and displays information on a wide range of destinations, attractions and tourism product and also takes bookings for these products. In addition, the WAVC has a retail area, selling mainly travel related products, such as maps, books and souvenirs.
We are supported by Tourism WA and aim to:
Showcase all of Western Australia and inspire and encourage visitors to travel throughout the State, thus helping to extend stay and increase spend; Provide assurance to visitors by reviewing their preparation and readiness and providing additional information for their travels around Western Australia; and Connecting regional visitor centres and operators with the consumer by offering assistance with booking tourism services including (but not limited to) hotels, tours and attractions.
We are run for profit and need to make a return from our operations.
Our parent company is The Tourism Group which is a leader in tourism development services and leader in visitor information services. The head office for the Tourism Group is in Brisbane and the visitor center is located in the heart of Perth. The Tourism group has been operating the WA Visitor Centre since July 2018.
