Snoring is a very annoying, and in many cases health-altering, problem. It isn't just annoying, but in many cases it is a sign of more serious health problems. In other cases, snoring may be a sign that there are unhealthy elements in your lifestyle. Or, it may occur seemingly through no fault of your own, but you probably still want to get the problem fixed. You need to see your doctor first to make sure you have no serious health condition that is causing your snoring.
Generally, regardless of the cause of snoring, snoring is caused by a blockage in your airway. The common snore is the result of tissue blocking the airway. It may also be caused by thick mucus build-ups. In the case of tissue blocking the airway, this tissue often has expanded into the airway because of underdeveloped muscles. The result is a lot of vibration sound as the air squeezes through the small opening that remain. Some of the tissue that can cause snoring are the uvula, soft palate, adenoids, upper throat, tongue, and tonsils.
