I’m Kelly, a Melbourne-based mum of four and the creator of this brand, inspired by my journey as a parent navigating disability & sensory challenges.
Like so many parents, I’ve experienced the frustration of trying to find the right clothing that my son Max, who is blind/autistic, could tolerate. His sensitivities to textures, tags, zippers, and seams made getting dressed a daily challenge. As he grew, finding suitable options became nearly impossible—leaving us with ripped clothes, meltdowns, and endless searches for something he could comfortably wear. More than anything I wanted him to feel comfortable, especially at home - his happy place!
After doing some research, I realized that our experience wasn’t unique & heaps of families were struggling to find a “unicorn” - good quality, fun, affordable & “real” sensory-friendly clothing ~ So in 2020 Comfort on the Spectrum was born, with a mission to make dressing easier, happier, and less stressful for everyone, regardless of age, gender or sensitivity.
