Makeup artist, hairstylist, and educator: Karissa McLaren has created looks for some of the biggest brands in the beauty business over her 20-year career.

Karissa spent many years in Melbourne working backstage, on brand photoshoots and on editorial campaigns, and was represented by talent agency Coco Productions. She was also head trainer at a prestigious makeup academy during this period.

Karissa returned to Brisbane in 2015 to establish KM Makeup Studios. As KM’s Creative Director, Karissa developed the modern signature looks for which the studio became widely known.

Karissa has now returned to her roots as a freelance artist, working with an enviable kit that enables her work across all genres and trends. She is based in Brisbane and available for freelance bookings around Australia.
