The Gabee group’s history dates back to 1949 when Heinz Arnhem founded the Australian family company named after his wife. Heinz spent decades designing and developing new techniques of leather tanning and craftsmanship in his little Collins street atelier in Melbourne. Inspired by the traditions of his European roots in textiles and energised by his new Australian home, Heinz designed and developed new techniques of leather tanning and craftsmanship and formed the foundations for style and innovation that remain at the core of the Gabee family firm, three generations and almost 7 decades later.
