Insemination

Insemination is a process that can take place naturally or artificially, as a means for sexual reproduction. During natural insemination the sperm is introduced into the uterus or cervix through sexual intercourse. A type of artificial treatment often used is called in vitro ("in glass"), during which eggs are collected andcombined with sperm in a laboratory. They are then allowed to develop into embryos, before being inserted directly into the uterus. This treatment increases the chance of conception.
