Roxby Downs Racing Club
Roxby Downs, located 570 Km north of Adelaide is South
Australia’s premier mining town with 5000 people living in the town and the
surrounding areas servicing the nearby Olympic Dam multi mineral mine.
The Roxby Downs and District Racing Club was formed in 1990
and held its first registered race meeting in 1994.
Since then, the Club has staged increasingly successful
yearly races, attracting between 1500 and 2000 people. The Roxby Downs Outback
Cup is South Australia’s most northern registered race meeting, making it a
unique social and sporting event on the outback calendar.

To provide northern South Australian communities with an
enjoyable family event which promotes racing in the outback?
To maximize exposure for our race day and sponsors.
Visions
The vision of the club and committee is to develop our race
meeting to be the feature racing event in outback South Australia.
