Poppy Playtime

Poppy Playtime is a survival horror video game developed and published by American indie developer MOB Games in which the player takes on the role of a former employee returning to an abandoned toy factory once owned by the game's in-universe company Playtime Co. 10 years later, the staff appears to have vanished without a trace. The player navigates through a first-person perspective and must solve puzzles, some of which require the use of a device known as the GrabPack, in order to progress while avoiding various enemies.

On October 12, 2021, the first chapter was released on Steam for Microsoft Windows, and on March 11, 2022, it was released for Android and iOS. The second chapter, as well as future chapters, are scheduled to be released in early 2022 as downloadable content. The game quickly received positive feedback for its gameplay, but received negative feedback after the developers announced non-fungible tokens.

Poppy Playtime Game story / Game plot

The protagonist receives a package containing a VHS tape containing a commercial for the titular doll Poppy Playtime and factory tours, before cutting to spliced in footage of poppy graffiti and a letter from the missing staff requesting them to "find the flower." They then go to the abandoned toy factory to find out what happened to the employees. They watch a VHS tape that introduces them to the GrabPack after cracking the code to a security door. They are introduced to Huggy Wuggy, who is on display in the center of the room, after unlocking the door to the lobby with it. While attempting to unlock one of the lobby doors, the power goes out, forcing them to restore power in the power room. When they return to the lobby, they discover that Huggy has vanished from his display. The protagonist then restores power to a control panel so that he can control an overhead crane and retrieve the GrabPack's right hand. They then unlock and enter the factory's "Make-a-Friend" section, where they restore power to the machinery and create a toy. The toy is then placed in a scanner, and a door to a hallway is opened. Huggy appears unexpectedly after entering the hallway and chases the protagonist through the vents. After reaching a fork in the road, the protagonist pulls down a box and breaks a section of the conveyor belt, causing Huggy to fall to the factory's floor. They then go to the aforementioned poppy graffiti and open a door to a hallway, which leads to a room where Poppy is in a case. The protagonist then opens the case, allowing Poppy to escape.
