Joe Black Cafe is in Commonwealth Street, next door to the Travelodge Hotel and is tucked into a maze of streets in Surry Hills with Sydney just a short walk south of Hyde Park. Here you can sneak off to enjoy your work breaks.

You will find a quirky mix of elements creating a cosy vibe inside this daytime retreat, from polished floorboards to bright green tiles and a black and white mural depicting the evolution of man and coffee over time. 

Joe Black Cafe offers an all-day menu of sumptuous fare and a choice between Five Senses, single origin, filter brews and cold drip coffee. Opt for early morning all day breakfast dishes like creamy Bircher muesli, eggs benedict and omelettes with mouth-watering fillings, or visit later for a selection of gourmet toasted sandwiches, burgers and vibrant salads such as smoked Atlantic salmon salad with seasonal greens in a special house made dressing.

We are well known for our sourdough toast with diced Spanish onions, cherry tomatoes and avocado topped with two poached eggs and our slow cooked lamb salad with French lentils, baby spinach, beetroot, goats cheese and special pedro glaze.
