3Columns was founded in 2017, when a wave of high profile cyberattacks crippled major organisations [Sony, Equifax etc.….] and caused significant data and revenue theft, loss of consumer confidence, and reputation damage.
Founder Amit Singh, A consultant with 15+ years’ in the Cybersecurity industry, was concerned about the future prospects for small and medium businesses, at a time when even global corporations are vulnerable to hackers, and decided to do something about it.
His decision was strongly influenced by a recently introduced law in Australia requiring companies to disclose privacy breaches. Companies were not obliged to do this prior to the law being passed.
