To keep track of their blood coagulation levels and avoid complications caused by over or under coagulation, patients on oral anticoagulant therapy (OAT) should have their prothrombin time (PT) and international normalised ratio (INR) checked on a regular basis. A healthcare practitioner or the patient can measure the PT/INR. Patient self-testing, often known as home testing, is the fourth type of testing. The goal of this study was to see how patients felt about self-testing for PT/INR using portable coagulometer devices.
