HazClear Asbestos Removal
If you believe you have asbestos but are not sure take a sample to an NATA-accredited laboratory and have it tested.
Always ensure any area where you are working with asbestos is well-ventilated with plenty of fresh air.
Before starting the removal process, completely saturate a small area with water and then remove the asbestos in that area quickly keeping the area thoroughly saturated. This helps minimize the release of asbestos fibre.
If you are Confident that you can complete the task, be sure to review the following list of important points for working with asbestos:
-Do not use any abrasive sanding disks or cutting tools
-Avoid the use of any kind of Power tool.
-Do not used air compressors of any sort
-Do not use high-pressure cleaners
-Never walk on corrugated asbestos roofs as they are not load bearing strength and will collapse and send you through the roof.
-Do not leave any pieces of asbestos containing materials in the house or yard-- remove all vestiges from the premises.
-If unsure whether or not a material contains asbestos, get it tested by a NATA-accredited lab.
-To minimize the possibility of airborne asbestos particles, keep the area wet down constantly.
CAUTION: When working with loosely-bound asbestos containing materials it is best to have the job handled by professionals as the risks are significantly greater than with firmly-bound materials.
