Based in Brisbane, Australia, Larrikin Puppets offer something different from other party entertainers. Our puppet characters are larger than life, bringing a sense of fantasy and whimsy to the events, which human performers can't quite provide. It's almost like the cousins of your child's favourite Sesame Street friends have come to visit.
Larrikin Puppets will bring out the inner child of every adult audience member too. We make the role of Compère/MC into something wildly different and memorable with a large Muppet-style monster to host corporate events!
Larrikin Puppets owner/operator Brett Hansen has a lifetime of puppetry experience.
In theatre, Brett was "Puppetry Consultant" in the 2012 and 2014 Brisbane Arts Theatre productions of Tony Award winning Broadway musical, Avenue Q, and was also a cast member of the show in 2012. Our very own puppet comedy stage show, Thank Troggg You're Here: A Puppet Impro Spectacular! has been performed several times to large audiences of adult puppet fans.
In film and TV, Brett assisted with puppetry in the film project, Cluck: The Web Series, puppeteered Troggg in the short film, Heart of a Thousand Souls, and has appeared on Channel 31 Digital's The Late Nite Show andShowreel with Troggg and Frizzby.
Larrikin Puppets is a Blue Card holding business, regulated by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000. We're covered by Public Liability Insurance through Duck for Cover Entertainers' Group Inc.
