Pia’s
relationship with Chinese Medicine began with a chance visit to an
acupuncturist on the recommendation of a friend. During her treatment, she
experienced profound relief of her tendonitis and felt more mentally and
emotionally at ease. She became curious about this entirely different medical
worldview – grounded in the observation and understanding of nature, and its
reflection in us. After years of travel and study, she could now see a way to
not only help people and combine it with her passion for medicine, but to
also bring her own humanity to it. Pia is a qualified and registered
Acupuncturist & Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Chinese Remedial
Massage (Tui Na) Therapist. Her post-graduate studies in Canonical Chinese
Medicine at ICEAM with Dr Arnaud Versluys has further developed her pulse
diagnosis handed down from the Tian Family lineage, as well as its
application using classical herbal formulas. Pia has practiced in northern
India with Moringa Project, and in Melbourne as a herbal dispenser for Dr
Steven Clavey and Dr Graham Jellett. Pia has been practicing with the
wonderful team at Kundalini House since 2012, and currently practices in
Torquay and Ocean Grove as well. Pia has a special interest in internal
medicine as taught by the Classics and believes that Chinese Medicine is
fundamentally about the relationships that nourish us – between our
environment, others and within ourselves. This grounded approach considers
that even when faced with chronic and complex health concerns, these can
frequently be unraveled by addressing the accumulated issues, one layer at a
time. Her down to earth, compassionate and warm approach is balanced by her
experience treating and preventing a wide range of conditions regarding all
aspects of general practice including immune disorders, viral conditions,
fatigue related illnesses, pain disorders, digestive, dermatological and
mental-emotional imbalances, as well as women’s health. |
